Note : Hudepohl (1987) described another new species, Scalenus ysmaeli and placed Nothopeus Pascoe, 1864 as junior synonym of Scalenus Gistel, 1848. However, the former was retained in this study as the original description and types of Scalenus were not available.

Material examined : single specimen examined in Sarawak Museum bearing 2 labels, (i) Coloborhombus sp. nr. hemipterus (Fab), named in Brit. Mus. by C. J. Gahan & E. B. Poulton, Nov.14.1900, (ii) N. W. Borneo, 3600 feet, Mt. Matang, near Kuching, Sarawak, Capt. by Dyak coll., Jun.00 & Pres. 1900 by R. Shelford, B.A.In latter years, Gahan (1906) synonymed Coloborhombus under Nothopeus Pascoe with the type-species N. hemipterus. The specimen examined fit the description of given.
