Diagnostic characters : antennae support depressed, inner margin acute; antennae slightly longer than body in female, much longer in male; scape spined ectoapically; 3 - 4 antennal segments slightly thicken apically, 5 - 10 dentate at apex; prothorax narrower than elytra, base wider than apex; pronotum entirely corrugated; elytra gradually narrow posteriorly, truncate; femora almost parallel, compressed laterally.
Massicus pascoei (THOMSON)
Body fuscous, almost entirely covered with very dense luteous pubescence giving an overall milky-yellow color; mandible and almost entire head with dense hairy luteous pubescence; antennae black, scape with dense luteous pubescence; disc of prothorax with two laterad longitudinal luteous stripes, median and sides fuscous with sparse tawny pubescence; entire elytra with neatly arranged luteous pubescence, less so on side of humeral angle, totally absent on suteral and outer margin; undersurfaces with thick luteous pubescence with well-defined castaneous abdominal suture; legs fuscous with dense luteous pubescence. Head narrower than prothorax; external margin of
mandible parallel at basal half, gradually rounded towards apex,
molar bidentate; labrum, posterior margin of subelliptical
impression and a narrow median line bare; a short median groove
between eye; antennae support prominent, inner side acute. Antenna
