Genus Eodalis Pascoe Eodalis Pascoe, 1869, Trans, Ent. Soc. Lond., ser 3, 3 : 648 (type-species: E lepidus Pasc., 1869). - Aurivillius, 1912, Coleopt. Cat., 39 : 648. Diagnostic characters : head feebly constricted behind eyes; frons subquadrate with 2 parallel carinae separated by a median groove; eyes and antennal insertion widely separated; antennae shorter than body, gradually clavate to apex; scape enlarged; antennal segment 3 elongated, longer than 4+5 united; the latter subequal, feebly incrassate at apex; prothorax ovate with basal and apical constriction; disc subdepresses; elytra parallel-sided, sutural tip acuminate; femora peduncle-nodose; hind femora extended beyond elytral apex; tibiae curved at base, laterally compressed; mesosternum. broad.
Eodalis lepidus PASCOE
Body completely denuate except sparse pubescence on legs; shinny and clossy; labrum and aclypeus castaneous; remainder of head and entire prothorax metallic greenish black; anterior of pronotum with a glabrous brownish, broad annular ring; antennae fuscous; scape, segment 2 and base of 3 yellowish-castaneous; scutellum green; elytra entirely bright fulvous, sutural and external margin including apex bordered with black tinge with metallic green; pro-, meso- and metasternum shinny black, tinge with metallic blackish-green; epimeron of mesothorax clothed with whitish pubescence; abdomen fulvous; fore and mid femora entirely glossy fuscous; apical nodose and base of peduncle of hind femora glossy fuscous, 2/3 apical half of peduncle testaceous; tibiae also fuscous, apex of hind pair tinge with brownish-castaneous. Head with 2 parallel median carinae from anterior of frons to vertex; clypeus transverse, punctate, separated from frons by a weak A-shaped sulcus; the latter punctate; antennal insertion distanct apart, inner portion of antennifer raised. Antenna shorter than body, extended to 1/3 of elytra; scape curved at base, moderately nodose and enlarged dorsally; segment 3 filiform, thicken at apex; 4 - 11 complanate, clavate; 4 & 5 elongated trapezoid; 6 - 10 squarish. Prothorax longer than broad; base constricted; apical constriction more of a transverse glabrous annular band; side moderately convex, unarmed; pronotum with 2 protuberance each of each side of median; disc coarsely and closely punctate, usually median with 2 braod glabrous and impunctate longitudinal stripes; lateral side and prosternum also closely and coarsely punctate. Scutellum small; narrow, parallel-sided; apex truncate. Elytron 5.7 X as long as broad; disc planate, glossy, glabrous and impunctate except for blackish margin that is punctulate, coarser near scutellum; lateral deflexion narrow, attenuate; side feebly incurved at middle otherwise parallel; apex broadly rounded; sutural tip dehiscent and acuminate. Undersurfaces : meso- and metasternum glossy, glabrous and impunctate. Abdomen : impubis; nitid. Legs : femora peduncle-nodose; nodose of hind femora glabrous, huge; basal half of mid tibiae canaliculate, apical half pubescent; hind tibiae peduncle-clavate, laterally compressed, peduncle strongly curved and canaliculate, clavated portion subnitid.
