Genus Acrocyrta Pascoe Acrocyrta Pascoe, 1857, Trans. Ent. Soc. Lond., ser 2, 4 : 144 (loc. cit.); 1869, Trans. Ent. Soc. Lond., ser 3, 3 : 639. Diagnostic characters : antennal insertion narrow; eye feebly emarginate, almost entire; antennae 1.5 X as long as body, basal segment thicken apically or slightly clavate; antennal segment 3 - 5 spined endoapically; segment 4 shorter than scape; 5 - 11 longer than 4, subequal or slightly increased in length; prothorax subcylindrical; elytra truncated with an acuminate angular spine, rounded at suture; abdomen short, conical; middle and hind legs elongated; femora fusiform; tibiae straight; fore tarsus a little dilated; first hind tarsal segment 2 X as long as 2 + 3 united.
Acrocyrta clytoides PASCOE
Body blackish; head atrous; labrum, maxillary and labial palpi fuscous; antennae fusco-piceous, segment 6 - 8 whitish except apical tip; prothorax atrous; pronotum with an annular band of whitish pubescence slightly behind anterior margin and latero-posterior of base, the former gradually curved backwards at side and united with the latter near fore coxae; posterior of pronotum with grayish tinge; scutellum black, apex whitish; elytra fusco-piceous with 2 albus bands; posterior half of pro- and mesosternum densely clothed with whitish pubescence; posterior of mid coxae, episternum of metathorax, a triangular patch at posterior margin of metasternum and first 2 abdominal segments except the base albus, the rest fuscous with sparse whitish pubescence; legs fusco-piceous; femora with albus setae or pubescence. feebly oblique with frons; frons vertical, planate, punctate and pubescent; gena. very long, as deep as entire eye; genal margin coarsely
punctate, punctures
shallow but piliferous; gula transverse, puncto-striate; eye only feebly
notched at dorsal; antennal insertion very close, area between strongly raised,
concave and with a short median groove; vertex at angle with frons, somewhat
granulated; neck feebly strigulated. Antenna
