DIAGNOSIS : head, body generally black, mat; eye finely facetted; antennae shorter than body, stout; elytron flattened on disc or somewhat concave along suture, epipleura distinctive; prothorax rounded at side, unarmed; hind femur usually exceeding abdominal apex; first hind tarsal segment laterally compressed, longer than the second and third united; fore coxal cavity rounded externally and closed posteriorly.
