For : head extremely large, wider than prothorax; mandible curved on its entire length, somewhat cylindrical, molar bidentate, base not carinate but produced ventrally; labrum narrow, extremely broad, as wide as entire clypeus; gena ridged, short; femora incrassate; elytra ususally entire testaceous-red. For :  head narrower than prothorax; hind femora at most reaching elytral apex; elytra red with black apical tip - Euryphagus, THOMSON
