Genus Lychnuris

Two species were found in Peninsular Malaysia. The first one was Lychnuris analis (Fabricius), which was identified based on records from China and Peninsular Malaysia. The females of this species are larviform and wingless, similar to the British glow-worm. Lychnuris antricola Blair is similar to the type of L. antricola collected from several areas in Selangor. However, it is smaller in size and has dark brown femora instead of yellow. The females are larviform and wingless, similar to L. analis. Lychnuris analis fwas found in Penag, Perak and Selangor, while Lychnuris  antricola was only found in an oil palm plantation in Malacca.
