locality: The holotype was in the collection of Creveld, and is untraced at
present; type locality not mentioned in the original description.

Central Nicobars in India, southern Thailand, the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra,
Enggano, Java and Borneo (Manthey and Grossmann, 1997: 247).

Derivation:
For Dr. Heinrich Kuhl (1797-1821), assistant to Coenraad Jacob Temminck
(1778-1858), who went to Java with Johan Coenraad van Hasselt (1797-1823) (see
Anon, 1823, for an obituary, and Fransen et al., 1997, for a biography).
Remarks:
Ptychozoon kuhli Stejneger, 1902, is a
replacement name for Lacerta homalocephala
Creveld, 1809, which is preoccupied by Lacerta homalocephala Suckow, 1798.
