Type locality: MNHN 1889.152 (1445 alpha), 1889.154 (1445 beta), MNHN 1889.155 (syntypes; fide Guibé, 1954: 9; Brygoo, 1990); BMNH 1891.X (formerly MNHN 1889.157) from “Kina Balu” (= Mount Kinabalu, 06° 00-15’N; 116° 15-45’E, Sabah, East Malaysia [Borneo]).

Distribution: Northern Borneo. Endemic to Borneo (Hikida, 1990; Manthey and Grossmann, 1997: 219).

Derivation: Latin for inhabitant of Mount Kinabalu.
